Quality Assurance Inspector

About the role

The Quality Assurance function sits within the supply chain area at the Hoddesdon Depot, it is a key department responsible for checking the quality of products, with specialist equipment that interfaces with the client, all departments of Best Food Logistics and the supplier base.

 

Working within a dynamic team, you will support the delivery of great service to our customers through outstanding quality of products to stores and their customers.

  • Management quality checks of products
  • Liaising with suppliers and Pret Technical Team
  • Daily and Weekly Reports to suppliers
  • Quality deductions monthly
  • Liaising high level with the customer
  • Scheduling video calls covering off KPI’s
  • Calibrate Equipment
  • Quarterly Performance Tracker
 

You will need

The successful candidate will work as part of a small team looking at all areas from produce quality to packaging as well as develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support Supply Chain planners in their daily tasks to ensure efficient flow of goods throughout the network, managing constraints efficiently and collaboratively. This will include the prioritisation of inbound and provision of accurate/timely information and a variety of reports both internal and external.

 

You will be required to track and report Key Performance Indicators, including RAG’s, and generate continuous improvement suggestions in support of customers and our business through the implementation of more effective and efficient ways of working.

 

Specific accountabilities include the ability to balance inbound priorities with depot capacity and time constraints, prioritizing appropriate checks based on seasonality, end of season lines, new season to support inventory control and availability metrics.  Pro-actively engage with suppliers to ensure booking slots are secured and deliveries arrive as required, working collaboratively to resolve any issues. Ensuring customer needs are met through delivery of agreed targets. That end-to-end and wider business context is considered as part of supply chain decision making.

 

Applicants must have excellent communication and mathematical skills, the ability to effectively prioritise and organise your own work and do so under pressure. PC skills, especially Microsoft Excel, are advantageous as well as a good understanding of a fast-moving consumer goods supply chain.

 

Working towards relevant professional qualifications would be advantageous, as would previous quality checking experience and working with a food facility, including destructive tests where appropriate.

 

Working Hours:

 

40 hours per week Sunday to Thursday, Typical hours of work 07:00 – 15:30

 

Potential Overtime available.
