About the role
We are currently recruiting for our Ritter Fresh site in Avonmouth. This role will support the Site Manager with all aspects of Operations including distribution and production. You will be in constant contact with our other Ritter site to ensure smooth processing of Customer Orders.
Our Ritter Fresh site in Avonmouth prepares custom orders for our customers for all types of meat and fish, the site includes fresh crustacean tanks, and meat carcasses.

Working closely with the Operations Manager you will support in managing the facilities, vehicles and purchasing for the site ensuring the Production and Sales teams have the inventory and equipment to enable them to complete business.
You will be key in communicating with other depots and the head office to ensure customer deliveries are completed and an issue are handled appropriately, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction is crucial.
As part of the role there will be daily administration tasks to complete to ensure the stock file is kept in order, these will include credits, stock checks, adjustments and booking in purchased stock.
The technical aspect of the role will at first be about working with the Operations Manager to review and update the HACCP and BRC quality system where required. From there you will be ensuring supplier approval and training records are well maintained, monthly site audits and micro testing is completed and administration of KPI reports are sent to head office.
Other duties will include; monitoring the vehicles operated from the site, assisting in the welfare monitoring of the live crustaceans tanks, handling incoming calls from customers to support the sales team, dealing with staff agency bookings and ordering of inventory such as PPE, stationary, cleaning supplies and packaging.
You will need
The successful candidate will be someone who is organized, a strong communicator, has good attention to detail and can keep pace in a dynamic working environment. Experience of the Meat/Fish or Food industry and BRC Food Safety Systems would be advantageous however not strictly necessary as trianing will be provided. Good standards of maths, literacy and IT skills including Excel, Word and Outlook is important. Although the role will be mainly office based you will be someone who is happy to be in a production environment if required and is comfortable with raw fish and meat products.
